Netarts Bay is a lovely salt water estuary, about 5 miles long, and separated
from the Pacific Ocean by a narrow sand spit. The tiny town of Netarts
is located near the mouth of Netarts Bay. The bay
is inhabited by clams, fishes, seals, crabs and birds of astounding variety.
Netarts is located about 75 miles west of Portland (6 miles west of Tillamook) and is right on the famous “Three Capes Scenic Loop”. By car, Netarts is less than a 2 hours from Portland, an hour and a half from Salem, and about 5 hours from Seattle; it can be reached from the San Francisco Bay area in a day’s drive, ~11-12 hours or an hour and a half flight into Portland.
